Are Fracking Dangers Real?

Linked below is a New York Times article reporting that the Environmental Protection Agency, with appointees under the Obama Administration, have absolved hydraulic fracturing from accusations by hysterical “environmentalists” that the process is a danger to drinking water. As you will see from earlier postings I’ve not bought this propaganda. While we must always protect the environment, let’s remember that we live in a world where countries with out our values would like to hold us hostage to their oil exports. “Fracking” is liberating the United States from this bondage.

WASHINGTON — Hydraulic fracturing to drill for oil and natural gas has not caused widespread harm to drinking water in the United States, the Environmental Protection Agency said Thursday in a report that also warned of potential contamination of water supplies if safeguards are not maintained.

A draft study issued by the agency found specific instances where poorly constructed drilling wells or improper wastewater management affected drinking water, but said the number of cases was small compared to the large number of wells that use hydraulic fracturing, better known as fracking.
